Overweight, and suffering from 'abnormally high' blood pressure, Millie McPhillips turned to Curves.
LEAVE ME BREATHLESS
At just under 14 stone, young looking Millie McPhillips knew that she was overweight. But this wasn't her only problem – "walking up hills and climbing stairs left me breathless".
Millie also hated shopping for clothes and suffered from "abnormally high" blood pressure.
SETTING GOALS
Millie wanted the energy to enjoy playing with her much-loved grandchildren, and also dreamed of taking part in a marathon. With this in mind, she joined Curves. She says of the invaluable support of Curves staff; "Curves staff past and present supported, encouraged and motivated me to exercise three times a week. They kept me focused on my goal".
VISIBLE RESULTS
Within one year of joining Curves Millie had dropped over 3 stone! She found herself taking a new pleasure in life, and says of her new found fitness;
"Playing with my grandchildren has become a pleasure now that I have the energy".
Her dream of taking part in a mini-marathon is also now a real possibility, and she plans to enter the Dublin Women's Mini-Marathon.
FIFTEEN YEARS YOUNGER
Through regular exercise at Curves and a healthier diet Millie really has turned back the clock; "I'm feeling fitter and healthier than I did 15 years ago!"
But not only does Millie 'feel' better, her very high blood pressure levels have returned to normal and she no longer takes medication for the condition.
